Manually Embed a Video Tag on eBay
You do not need to connect your eBay account to eCommercePlayer to sell with audio or video. The Video Tag method is a simple copy-and-paste from each clip's Publish page into your eBay listing description — and it has worked reliably in listings for years.

Sign in and open your clip's Publish page
From your dashboard, go to Media (for a single clip) or Players (for a playlist), then click Publish on the item you want to embed. No eBay account connection is required for this workflow.
Copy the Video Tag code
On the Publish page, select the Video Tag sharing method and click Copy. This copies a small snippet of HTML — a clickable thumbnail that opens the player on ecommerceplayer.com when a buyer taps it. eBay allows this kind of markup; it does not use iframes or JavaScript, which eBay strips out.
Open your eBay listing for editing
In the Seller Hub or eBay's listing form, open the listing you are selling (or start a new one). Scroll to the Item description section.
Switch to the HTML tab (important)
Click the HTML tab at the top of the description editor. This is critical — if you paste the code into the visual (WYSIWYG) editor, eBay converts the angle brackets to text and the thumbnail will not render.
Paste the Video Tag where you want the player
Paste the code into the HTML editor at the position you want the thumbnail to appear. Near the top of the description generally performs best, because buyers often do not scroll.
Save and preview the listing
Save the listing (or continue to review), then use eBay's preview to confirm the thumbnail appears. Click it to verify it opens your player and the audio or video plays.
Repeat for each clip
If you are selling multiple items or showcasing multiple audio samples on one listing, repeat the copy-and-paste for each clip. Each Video Tag is its own independent thumbnail.

You do not need to connect your eBay account
The automatic eBay sync (the old eBay Assistant) is a convenience feature, not a requirement. Many sellers have been using the manual Video Tag method for years without ever linking their eBay account.
Always use the HTML tab, not the visual editor
eBay's visual editor will mangle the angle brackets. If your thumbnail shows up as raw text like <a href=...>, you pasted into the wrong tab — switch to HTML and paste again.
Add a short caption so buyers notice the thumbnail
Not every buyer realizes the image is clickable. A one-line prompt like "Click the image below to hear this record" or "Tap to watch a demo" makes a measurable difference in click-through.
The Video Tag does not rely on eBay's content policy exceptions
Because the Video Tag is a plain anchor-and-image, it is compliant with eBay's post-2024 active content policy. No iframes, no scripts — nothing for eBay to strip.
