Frequently Asked Questions

Getting Started
How do I add a media clip to my eBay listing?
The basic workflow is: (1) Upload your audio or video file from the Media page, (2) Wait for encoding to complete — your clip will show "Ready" when done, (3) Create a Player and add your clip to it, (4) Use the Publish option on your Player to get an embed code you can paste into your listing.
What file formats are supported?
Video: MP4, AVI, WMV, MOV, MKV, MPG, MPEG, OGV, 3GP, RM, RMVB. Audio: MP3, WAV, WMA, M4A, MID. All files are converted to HTML5-compatible MP4 format after upload.
How long does encoding take?
Most clips encode within a few minutes. Larger video files may take longer depending on queue volume. You can check the status on your Media page — it will show "Encoding" while processing and "Ready" when complete.
What is the maximum file size?
The maximum upload size is 100 MB per file.
Is eCommercePlayer really free?
Yes! The Basic plan is completely free and includes up to 5 media clips with full player features, all sharing methods, and player statistics. No credit card required. Premium plans add unlimited clips and priority encoding.
Players & Embedding
What is a Player?
A Player is a container that holds one or more media clips as a playlist. You create Players in the Players section, add media clips to them, then embed the Player on your listing or website.
How do I embed a player on my website?
Go to your Players page, click Publish on the player you want to share, and copy the embed code. You can paste it into any HTML page, blog post, or listing description.
Can I have multiple clips in one player?
Yes. Each Player supports a playlist of multiple clips. You can reorder clips from the Edit Player page.
Does auto-play work on eBay?
Auto-play behavior depends on the browser. Most modern browsers block auto-play with sound. The player will display and the buyer can click to play.
eBay Integration
How do I add a player to my eBay listing?
You can use the embed code from the Publish page and paste it into your eBay listing’s HTML description. The eBay integration page in your account can also help connect your eBay account for easier management.
Why don’t my eBay listings appear?
The system polls eBay periodically for your listings. New listings may take a few minutes to appear. If they still don’t show, try refreshing the page or re-authorizing your eBay connection from the eBay page. As a workaround, you can always copy the embed code from the Publish page and paste it directly into your listing’s HTML description editor.
Can I use multiple eBay accounts?
Each eBay account requires a separate eCommercePlayer account. Log out, clear your browser cookies, then register a new account and link your other eBay account from the eBay page. After setup you can switch between accounts by logging in and out normally.
Subscription & Billing
What are the subscription options?
Basic (Free): up to 5 media clips with full player features. Monthly ($17.77/month): unlimited clips with a free first month. Yearly ($7.77/month, billed $93.24/year): unlimited clips with two free months.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Log in to your PayPal account, find your most recent payment to Imagesoft Northwest, LLC, and click the subscription link inside that payment. From there you can cancel the recurring billing. If you have trouble finding it, contact our support team and we’ll take care of it for you.
Will I lose my media if I downgrade?
When your account downgrades to Basic, you have a 7-day grace period. During that time you can re-subscribe to keep all your clips. After 7 days, only your newest 5 clips are kept and the rest are permanently deleted. We’ll email you as soon as the downgrade happens, and again the day before deletion.
What happens to my eBay listings if I cancel?
After cancellation, you have a 7-day grace period during which all your players continue to work normally. After 7 days, if you have more than 5 clips, your oldest clips will be permanently deleted and any players using those clips may stop working. Your newest 5 clips and their players will remain active. You can re-subscribe at any time during the grace period to keep everything.
Account & Troubleshooting
How do I reset my password?
If you’re logged in, go to your Account page and click “Send Password Reset Link.” If you can’t log in, click “Forgot your password?” on the login page and enter your email address. We’ll send you a secure link to set a new password (the link expires in 1 hour). If you’ve lost access to your email, contact support to update it.
My uploads are stuck on “Waiting to Encode.” What should I do?
Encoding usually completes within a few minutes. If your clips have been waiting longer than 30 minutes, please contact support so we can investigate.
The player isn’t showing on my listing. What’s wrong?
First, make sure the media clip status is “Ready” and the player is published. The most common cause is corrupted HTML — eBay’s editor sometimes converts the angle brackets in the embed code to < and > text. Switch to the HTML tab in your listing’s description editor and look for these. If you see them, remove the old code and re-paste a fresh embed code from the Publish page.
My upload is failing or I’m getting a timeout error. What should I do?
Try renaming your file to use only letters, numbers, and dashes — special characters in file names can cause errors. For large video files, try trimming or compressing the file before uploading (the limit is 100 MB). If the problem persists, try using Chrome — Safari can sometimes have compatibility issues with our upload system.
Which browsers work best with eCommercePlayer?
We recommend Google Chrome for the best experience. Firefox and Edge also work well. Safari on Mac can occasionally have issues with uploads. The embedded player works in all modern browsers.
Can I delete my account?
Yes. Contact our support team and we’ll take care of it. If you have an active PayPal subscription, be sure to cancel it first so you aren’t charged after the account is removed.
